The zen naturally attracted me because i was hosting my friends coming in from houston and we do enjoy hip hop in a relaxed enviornment and the zen mixed it in there which was good because a diverse crowd is what makes things new and interesting not the same lame snobby people. I enjoy the concept of marrying a sophisticated feel with the urban vibe. We enjoyed vip and the drinks were on the spot. Much respect and love for the zen.

Nice Place . This is the best Houston Street has to offer. Hip Hop is in and if you don't like it or are stuck in the lame outdated House music scene go somewhere else (like a nursing home I hear they are still playing that outdated crap).

GREAT CONCEPT POOR EXECUTION. How can a place so beautiful have such poor service? The wait staff is unresponsive and clueless. Waitresses forget their purpose is to serve rather than stand around giving attitude. The hip hop music does not fit the environment. This may explain why Zen is attracting so many undesirables and so much negative media attention. Zen Bar needs to hire a professional staff, play appropriate music, and enforce a strict door policy. Keep a lookout for a "For Lease" sign on the front door.
